Lobby photos for How The West Was Won
(photos that would have been on display in the theater lobby)

I differentiate lobby cards from lobby photos - the cards seem to have been displayed either in the lobby or outside along with the movie posters.
The lobby photos seemed to be more just for the lobby. The cards also had the movie title in a larger type than the photos did.

The Reb and Zeb are surprised This picture is interesting, as it shows a scene that didn't happen this way in the movie. In the movie the officer with the lantern doesn't come on the scene until after Zeb has drunk from the pink stream, at which time he shouts "stragglers join your regiment!", which drives Zeb and the Reb to scurry away. I've seen several publicity photos like this - I assume a still photographer was frequently on set, and would sometimes take a still photo of the major actors as if they were in the middle of filming their scene, though the photo is obviously staged.
