LA RUTA MAYA AIRFARES
Check
out the "LA RUTA MAYA" airfare packages. They are special airfares for those
traveling to the Mayan sites, sometimes including deals on hotels. These packages
(available from certain Central American airlines) allow you to buy tickets good for a
certain number of stops at participating airports, and could be a good deal for you. When
we went we found it easier to just go it alone, without the specials. (But it might be a
better deal for you.) Another tip: We found it cheaper to begin our trip from the airport
in Tijuana, Mexico, than to fly to Mexico City from a U.S. airport. Luckily for us we live
just across the border in San Diego, and could drive to the Tijuana airport.
